The Newsletter feature enables preschools to keep parents and students informed about important events, holidays, and updates. With our Newsletter feature, you can easily customize your text, include attachments, and even share a collection of your latest class pictures. This feature allows you to create personalized, engaging newsletters to keep parents updated on different activities and important information.

Creating Newsletter - Manually

  • Click on Parent Communication from the dashboard

  • Navigate to the Newsletter in the menu

  • Click on Create New Newsletter

Drag-n-Drop Editor

The Drag-and-Drop Editor allows you to create a fully customized newsletter by easily dragging and dropping different elements like text, columns, and images from the available layout options. This makes designing newsletters simple and intuitive.

Content

Start creating the newsletter by clicking on the “Create & Send” note on the screen.

On the left side, you'll see various options like Columns, Button, Divider, and Heading. Simply drag and drop these elements into the newsletter template to customize your layout.

Blocks

To add Blocks, navigate to the right side of the screen where you'll find the “Blocks” option. Click on it and select the type of blocks you'd like to add to your newsletter.

Body

You can also edit the Newsletter body, by clicking on the “Body” option on the right side of the screen. You can change text color, background color, and content alignment using this option.

Delete

To delete a block or header, simply click on the item. You will see a trash icon appear.

  • Click on the trash icon

  • Confirm by clicking Yes, and the selected item will be deleted

Add Photos

You can enhance your newsletter by adding photos to make it more visually appealing.

  • Select the Image option

  • Drag and drop the Image option into the newsletter body

  • Select Upload Image from the right side

  • Use the Width option to adjust the size of the image

  • Select the Align option to change the image's alignment

  • Add Alternate Text for the image

  • If needed, add a URL to the image

  • Choose whether the URL should open in the same tab or a new tab

  • Adjust Container Padding (if required)

  • You can also hide the image on the desktop by clicking on Hide on Desktop

HTML Editor

The HTML Editor option lets you design the newsletter without relying on drag-and-drop tools, giving you complete control over the layout and content.

  • Drag the HTML option into the newsletter screen.

  • Click on the HTML column to edit the code.

Preview

Before sending the newsletter, you can preview how it will appear on different devices, such as desktop and mobile screens.

  • At the bottom of the newsletter, you'll find the desktop and mobile icons

  • Select the device icon for the preview you wish to see

Send

When you're ready to send the newsletter, click on the Send Newsletter option.

  • To send it to students in a specific room, click on the Rooms option

  • Select the rooms you want to include in the newsletter

  • If you want to target specific students, click on the Students option

  • Select the students you wish to send the newsletter to

  • Choose the student status (active, on hold, or signed up)

  • If applicable, select the relevant groups

  • If you want recipients to be able to comment on the newsletter, enable the “Enable comment in activity” option

  • After filling in all the details, click on Submit

Save as Draft

If you want to continue working on your newsletter later, you can save it as a draft.

  • Click on the “Save As Draft” option

  • You can access your draft later by navigating to Parent Communication > Newsletter Screen

Save as Template

If your school regularly uses the same newsletter format or slight variations, the template feature can be very beneficial. It allows you to create a newsletter once and easily access it for editing and sending to families.

  • Click on the “Save as Template” option.

  • You can access your template later by navigating to Parent Communication > Newsletter Screen.

Finding a Newsletter

If you want to access a newsletter that has been sent, or saved as a draft or template, you can find it from the Newsletter screen. You can apply multiple filters, such as:

  1. Filter by Title:

    • Choose the option “Filter By Title”

    • Enter the newsletter title

  2. Filter by Creator:

    • Choose the option “Created By”

    • Select the name of the person who created it

  3. Filter by Status:

    • Choose the option “Filter by Status”

    • Select the status like Draft or Template

  1. Click on Parent Communication from the left panel

  2. Navigate to the Newsletter Section

  3. Choose and Customize a Template

    You’ll find 11 pre-designed newsletter templates readily available.

    • Select the template you’d like to use.

    • Click on Clone as Template to duplicate it.

    • Start customizing the template to suit your needs.

Template 1: Summer Explorations

Use this newsletter to share summer safety tips, launch an engaging summer reading challenge, and plan a fun virtual field trip to keep children entertained and learning during the summer break.

Template 2: illumine Daycare

This newsletter serves as a recap of the month's activities, includes friendly reminders, showcases after-school programs, and highlights upcoming events to keep parents informed.

Template 3: What are we learning today?

Share an overview of planned activities for a specific period, including additional notes or important details to give parents a clear understanding of what their children will be learning and experiencing.

Template 4: Important Dates / Announcement

Keep parents updated with key announcements, including upcoming school events, holiday schedules, special birthdays, or any other noteworthy information.

Template 5: What Parents Say About Us?

Highlight the positive feedback and testimonials shared by parents to showcase the impact of your childcare and build trust with your audience.

Template 6: Activities Parents Can Do at Home

Provide parents with a list of engaging activity ideas designed to support their child’s development at home. Include detailed instructions to ensure activities are easy to implement.

Template 7: Cultural Celebrations

Celebrate diversity by sharing photos and details of cultural events and activities children participated in, fostering an appreciation for various traditions and cultures.

Template 8: Explore Our School Facilities

Showcase your childcare center’s facilities through images and descriptions, highlighting spaces and resources that create an enriching and safe environment for children.

Template 9: Christmas Newsletter

Share highlights from your Christmas celebrations, including photos of activities and events, to spread holiday cheer and keep parents connected to festive moments at the childcare center.

Template 10: Spotlight Love for Learning

Show how children have enjoyed and benefited from different learning activities. Highlight their enthusiasm and growth in a way that reflects your childcare’s focus on fostering curiosity and engagement.

Template 11: Monthly Newsletter

Send a comprehensive monthly update featuring a message from the principal, a summary of activities, upcoming events, and family-friendly activity suggestions to strengthen the connection between parents and your childcare community.
