Make sure important updates don't get lost in the parent feed.
With Pinned Activities, teachers can now keep important activities at the top of the parent feed for a defined period—making key announcements, reminders, and updates easier for families to find.
📖 How to Pin an Activity
A step-by-step walkthrough of pinning an activity for staff, and how it appears to families in the parent app.
Step 1: Open the Activity You Want to Pin
From the Activities feed, find the activity card you'd like to keep visible — an Announcement, Block Hour update, or any other eligible activity type.

Step 2: Open the Pin Dialog
Tap the ⋮ (more options) icon on the activity card and choose Pin. The Pin Activity dialog opens on top of the feed.

Step 3: Set an Expiry Date
In the Pin until field, choose the date the activity should stop being pinned. A note confirms: "This activity stays pinned to the top of the parents' feed until this date." Tap Pin to confirm.

Step 4: See the Pinned Count Update
Once pinned, the activity shows a red pin icon on its card, and the "Pinned Activities" banner near the top of the feed updates its count (e.g. from 1 to 2). Tap the banner's arrow to jump straight to your pinned activities.

Step 5: Click on the Banner to view Pinned Activities as a teacher
Scroll through the feed as normal and view pinned activities by clicking on the banner. You can tap the X on the banner to dismiss it from view and go back to the feed.

Step 6: What Families See
In the parent app, pinned activities are clearly labeled with a 📌 Pinned tag next to the post date, and they stay above newer, unpinned posts in the family's feed until the expiry date passes.

Tips
Each branch can have up to 3 pinned activities at once — pin thoughtfully to avoid crowding out other updates.
Update or shorten the expiry date any time from the same Pin Activity dialog.
Unpin an activity early via the ⋮ menu if it's no longer relevant.
Pinned posts remain visible to families even after they'd normally scroll out of the feed's timeline.
