How to do EYFS assessment and milestone reports in Illumine

Creating assessments that are both relevant and meaningful is perhaps one of the key factors in determining a student’s learning journey. Illumine helps teachers to document and track progress efficiently while enabling them to offer support and guidance to students whenever necessary.

How to add a development area

  • First, go to learning in the menu and then to milestones.

  • To add a development area, click on the add development area button on the top right corner

  • Give a short name, label, and add then select the classrooms you want to create the development area for.

  • Next, give a title and click on submit. The development area will successfully be added to the list.

How to add a subdomain

  • Click on the subdomain option next to the development area you want to add it for

  • Give a short name, label, and add then select the classrooms you want to create the development area for.

  • Next, give a title and click on submit. The development area will successfully be added to the list.

How to add a milestone

  • Click on the milestone option next to the development area or subdomain you want to add it for.

  • Next, give a description and click on submit.

  • The milestone will be added.

How to conduct an assessment for a student

  • Go to student assessment under the learning option in the menu

  • Then click on the student you want to conduct the assessment for

  • Next, click on the create assessment button on the top right corner, add a title, and click on save

  • Conduct the assessment by marking progress for the relevant development areas and milestones for the particular student and then click on save assessment. The assessment will be successfully created for the selected student.

  • You can also download the assessment report by clicking on the download portfolio button on the top right.
