In part #2, we covered the fee module in fair detail.

In part #3, we will cover the attendance, parent communication, calendar, newsletter, and staff communication.

Once you have logged-in, here’s how you can explore.

STEP-1 : From the left panel go to ATTENDANCE → Student Attendance / Staff Attendance

The ‘attendance’ module covers all possible use cases - from managing student and staff attendance, to managing their leaves, as well as student-to-staff ratio and forecast.

When it comes to marking attendance, there are several ways - by scanning QR code at checkin/checkout, or with the student’s/staff’s unique ID at the reception or school entrance (kiosk mode), or manually through the app or web/laptop . Once marked present/absent, a notification is sent automatically to parents/ staff.

The ‘leaves’ feature lets the parents and staff apply for leaves, and the same can be approved by the admin on the platform itself. Approval/ rejection notifications are accordingly sent.

STEP-2 : From the left panel go to PARENT COMMUNICATION → MESSAGES / CONCERNS / PARENT NOTES

While ‘Messages’ are a two-way communication, where either the school, or the parent can initiate conversations, ‘Concerns’ and ‘Parent Notes’ can only be initiated by parents on the parent app.

To test the same, add your personal email & phone as a test-parent and try out the features.

STEP-3 : From the left panel go to STAFF COMMUNICATION → MESSAGES / STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS

This module is fairly straightforward. Under ‘Messages’ you can message individual staff members, or even they can initiate chat.

‘Staff Announcements’ on the other hand are solely controlled by the admin or those with permission.

STEP-4 : From the left panel go to PARENT COMMUNICATION and select NEWSLETTER.

This feature, lets you create newsletter for your school with a click of a few buttons. Drafts can be saved, templates can be created and the window also shows past newsletters that have been sent.

Once created, a newsletter can be sent to parents over email or can be shared through the app.The newsletter then appears in the activity feed on the parents’ app.

STEP-5 : From the left panel go to CALENDAR → SCHEDULE / EVENTS / HOLIDAY

‘Schedule’ is a time table of activities (from lessons, to meals and nap times) that can be set at the classroom level, and assigned to teachers. This is directly visible to parents.

When ‘Events’ are created, there is an option to send parents a notification about the same. More details (like poster, banner) can also be uploaded.

‘Holidays’ can be created one at a time, or through a bulk upload.

That's it for Part #3 of 7.

Happy exploring!
