Welcome to the Learning & Assessments Module of illumine! This guide will walk you through the key features and steps to help you get started with creating and managing assessments for your childcare center. With this module, you can easily create custom assessment frameworks, track developmental milestones, and ensure a seamless learning experience.

Assessment Builder

The Assessment Builder feature enables childcare centers to design custom assessment frameworks tailored to their unique needs. You can either choose from popular existing frameworks or upload your own framework using a CSV file. Once created, these frameworks can be fully customized to reflect your center's focus areas, milestones, and tracking methods.

How to Build Your Own Assessment Framework

1. Custom Build Frameworks by CSV Upload

  • Navigate to Student Assessment on the left panel and click on Assessment Builder from the drop down. Select Assessment Framework & Click on Add Development area using CSV.

  • Download the Sample CSV Template:

    • Access the sample CSV template from the platform to ensure your data follows the correct format.

  • Fill Out the Template:

    • Add your developmental areas, sub-development areas, milestones and age bands into the template.

  • Upload the CSV File:

    • Upload the completed template to the platform to create your custom framework. Any errors in the file will be flagged for correction.

2. Pick Existing Frameworks

  • Select Popular Frameworks:

    • Browse through preloaded frameworks such as EYFS, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or US state-based curriculums.

  • Review and Customize:

    • View all developmental areas, sub-development areas, milestones and age bands associated with the selected framework.

    • Modify the framework by adding, editing, or deleting elements to suit your needs.

  • Combine Frameworks (Optional):

    • Select multiple frameworks to create a comprehensive custom assessment framework.

By following these steps, you can create an effective and customized assessment framework that supports the developmental journey of the children in your care. Continue exploring the module to unlock additional tools for tracking progress, generating reports, and enhancing learning outcomes!

  • Navigate to Student Assessment on the left panel and click on Assessment Builder from the drop down

  • Under Assessment Framework > Click on Manage and Select “Manage Progress” from the drop down

  • Select type of progress for Development Area and Sub Development Area [Selector / Numeric]

  • Select type of progress for Milestones [Selector/ Numeric]

    • If you choose selector, you’ll be able to add Progress value names [Eg: Started, Developing etc]. You can also colour code these progress values

    • If you choose numeric, you can set an upper range value and also choose if you want averaged / non-averaged progress tracking
