Updated this week

We’ve added new controls and activity types to give centers more flexibility in how activities are shared and viewed—helping staff document internal moments while keeping parent feeds relevant and intentional.

What’s New

Staff-only activities

Mark activities as staff-only
Admins can now mark any activity type as Staff Only from the settings page.

Visible only to staff
Staff-only activities:

  • Are visible only to staff members

  • Do not appear in the parent activity feed

  • Are not available as activity types for parents to select or submit

This is ideal for internal notes, observations, or documentation meant strictly for staff use.

New activity type: Name to Face

Support staff-child recognition
We’ve introduced a new Name to Face activity to help staff learn and recognize children more easily.

Inspired by onboarding best practices
Similar to industry-standard examples (e.g., Brightwheel), this activity helps staff associate a child’s name with their face—especially helpful for new teachers, float staff, or substitutes.

Staff-focused visibility
This activity is intended for internal staff use and is not shared with parents.

AI-powered text assistance

Enable AI options in activity text fields
Admins can now enable AI-powered features—Translate and Suggestions—for custom text fields in both existing and custom activities.

Consistent experience across activities
When enabled, staff can quickly refine, translate, or improve activity notes directly while creating updates.

Why this matters

  • Cleaner parent feeds with only relevant activities

  • Better internal documentation for staff

  • Faster staff onboarding with Name to Face activities

  • Greater control over who sees what content

  • Improved communication clarity between staff and families
