Configure recurring invoices by selecting the exact invoice generation date and defining the service period the invoice should cover.

Simply choose when invoices should be generated (for example, the 25th of every month) and the service period (such as 1st–31st of the month). illumine automatically converts this into a recurring billing schedule, generating invoices on the chosen date for every billing cycle.

For quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly billing cycles, schools can now choose the starting month of the cycle.

For example, if your quarterly billing should begin in February instead of the calendar default of January, you can configure that directly in the tuition plan.

Save tuition plans as reusable templates

Instead of configuring billing rules, charges, discounts, and taxes from scratch every time, simply select a saved template and make any necessary adjustments- helping you create new tuition plans in just a few clicks.

Configure tuition plans without leaving the page. Simply select existing charges, discounts, and taxes, or create new ones on the fly as you build your tuition plan- eliminating the need to navigate back to Billing Settings.

Per-Day Billing

Create tuition plans that bill students based on the number of scheduled attendance days instead of a fixed monthly fee.

Simply configure a per-day rate, and illumine will automatically calculate invoice amounts based on the student's enrolled schedule—ideal for part-time or flexible attendance programs.

Choose whether the first and last invoice should be prorated directly within each tuition plan.

This gives you greater flexibility to define billing rules for different fee structures, without relying on global settings.

The enrollment screen now separates students into two tabs:

Quickly re-enroll returning students without searching through the full student list, making recurring or seasonal program enrollments much faster.

Before confirming your setup, review each student's billing details in one place—including their assigned tuition plan, start date, discounts, subsidies, and next invoice generation date. This final review helps ensure every student is billed correctly before recurring billing begins.

If the "Generate first invoice on joining date if assignment happens after the invoice generation date" setting is enabled, illumine will now identify any invoices the student has missed during assignment.

You'll have the option to generate those missed invoices immediately or skip them—giving you complete control over billing for students who join after the regular invoice generation date.

Manage subsidies directly within program enrollment by configuring multiple subsidies with their own start and end dates.

The system automatically applies the correct subsidy based on the effective date, ensuring the right subsidy amount is picked up for every invoice throughout the student's enrollment.

Simply configure it once and let illumine handle subsidy changes automatically—no manual updates required.

Configure both the daily subsidy reimbursement and the parent co-pay in one place. The calculator automatically computes the net daily subsidy amount that will be applied to each invoice, giving you complete visibility into how much is covered by the subsidy and how much is payable by the parent. This simplifies subsidy setup while ensuring accurate billing every time.

Assign custom discounts and subsidies while enrolling students into a program.

Instead of configuring these after enrollment, you can now add child-specific discounts, subsidies, and expiry dates as part of the assignment flow, making onboarding faster and ensuring invoices are generated correctly from day one.

Configure subsidies from either the Student Profile or the Program Enrollment page -whichever is more convenient.

Both views stay fully in sync, so any subsidy updates made in one place are automatically reflected in the other, ensuring billing always uses the latest configuration.

Configure future fee changes in advance using Rate Cards.

For example, if your tuition is $1,000 per month until September and increases to $1,200 from October onwards, simply add two rate entries with their respective effective start dates.

When invoices are generated, illumine automatically applies the correct rate based on the invoice generation date - no manual updates or new tuition plans required. This is ideal for planned fee revisions, annual tuition increases, or promotional pricing that changes over time.

Create dynamic tuition rules based on student information—without maintaining multiple tuition plans.

Simply define a condition (such as Sibling Count, Staff Child = Yes, or another student profile field) and specify the charge or discount that should apply when the condition is met.

We have chosen to remove Bi-weekly billing frequency, instead introduced Semi-monthly billing frequency. With Semi-monthly billing, invoices are automatically generated for two fixed service periods each month:
