We’ve introduced new access control permissions to give centers more flexibility in managing staff roles—while maintaining clear boundaries and role hierarchy.
What’s New
New role-based permissions
Edit own role
A new permission allows staff members to edit their own role, based on the access granted by administrators.
Edit other staff roles
Staff with appropriate permissions can now edit roles assigned to other staff members, enabling easier team management.
Permission-based role assignment
Controlled role editing
Role editing capabilities are now governed by permissions, ensuring only authorized staff can make changes.
COMING SOON: Role assignment hierarchy
Select assignable roles
In an upcoming update, admins will be able to define which roles a staff member can assign—to themselves or to others.
Hierarchy enforcement
Role assignment will respect role hierarchy, preventing users from assigning roles with higher privileges than their own.
Why this matters
Improves admin efficiency with delegated role management
Maintains security through permission-based controls
Prevents accidental privilege escalation with enforced role hierarchy
Scales better for centers with larger staff teams
