KinderConnect Integration (USA)

Written by Varun

We're excited to introduce KinderConnect Integration, enabling subsidy-funded childcare providers to seamlessly manage attendance reporting and reimbursement workflows directly from illumine. Schools can now synchronize attendance with KinderConnect while reducing manual work and improving compliance with state subsidy requirements. (Texas Workforce Commission)

What's New

Integrated KinderConnect Attendance

A new KinderConnect tab has been added to Attendance, allowing providers to review, validate, and synchronize attendance records for subsidized children.

Currently supported states include:

  • Texas

  • Virginia

  • Louisiana

  • Missouri

  • New York

Simple One-Time Setup

Connect your KinderConnect account in just a few steps by configuring your state, provider credentials (Provider ID and password), and agency selection.

For Texas, providers can select from multiple agencies where applicable.

Student Mapping Made Easy

Before attendance can be synchronized, students need to be linked with their KinderConnect records. You can map students individually, bulk download and upload mappings, or automatically fetch KinderConnect IDs using the student's name and date of birth.

Filtering for students with active subsidies makes onboarding faster, and Texas providers with multiple Provider IDs can specify which one to use when fetching student records.

Attendance Validation Workflow

Attendance records move through clear stages before submission:

  • Eligible – Ready for review

  • Needs Approval – Review before syncing

  • Not Eligible – Attendance is not eligible for subsidy reimbursement

  • Synced – Successfully submitted to KinderConnect

This provides complete visibility into every attendance record before reimbursement is processed.

Texas Compliance Updates

To support the latest Texas attendance requirements, illumine now supports mandatory attendance evidence, including student photos, parent or guardian signatures, and geolocation capture. These requirements will be enforced for Texas providers from September 1, in line with state attendance reporting requirements. When KinderConnect integration is enabled, attendance will be managed through the KinderConnect workflow to support compliant subsidy reporting.

Why this matters

  • Simplifies KinderConnect onboarding

  • Reduces manual attendance reporting

  • Improves subsidy reimbursement accuracy

  • Supports state-specific compliance requirements

  • Gives complete visibility into attendance synchronization status

  • Helps providers stay compliant while managing attendance directly from illumine
