Creating Custom Fields for Enquiries

Written by Shivee Pandita

Custom fields allow you to collect additional information that is not included in the default enquiry form.

For example:

  • Preferred start date

  • Sibling information

  • Special requirements

  • Government ID

  • Reference name

There are two types of custom fields in the Enquiries module.

Type A: Synced Custom Fields (Student Profile Fields)

These custom fields:

  • Appear during enquiry creation

  • Automatically sync to the student’s profile after admission

  • Remain part of the child’s permanent record

How to Create Synced Custom Fields

  1. Go to Settings from the left panel.

  2. Click Forms.

  3. Open Student/Parent Profile Fields.

  4. Click Add Field.

  5. Choose the field type:

    • Text

    • Number

    • Date

    • Dropdown

    • Checkbox

  6. Enter the field name.

  7. Assign it to Student (or parent, if required).

  8. Mark as mandatory if needed.

  9. Click Save.

Once created:

  • The field will appear in enquiry forms.

  • The information entered will sync to the student profile after admission.

Type B: Enquiry-Only Custom Fields

These custom fields:

  • Appear only within the Enquiries section

  • Do not sync to the student profile

  • Are used only during the enquiry stage

This is useful for temporary or marketing-related information.

How to Create Enquiry-Only Fields

  1. Go to Enquiries.

  2. Click Custom Fields.

  3. Click Add Field.

  4. Choose the field type.

  5. Enter the field name.

  6. Mark as mandatory if required.

  7. Click Save.

These fields will now appear when:

  • Creating a manual enquiry

  • Filling enquiry forms

When to Use Which Type?

Use Synced Fields when:

  • The information should remain part of the student’s permanent record.

Use Enquiry-Only Fields when:

  • The information is only needed during the admission process.

Custom fields allow you to customize the enquiry process according to your center’s requirements and ensure you collect all necessary information from parents.
